Kirstie Alley created a Twitter storm the other day when she said she was voting for Trump because he’s “not a politician”. She was roundly lambasted for that reasoning and, while she’s entitled to her opinion, after watching the Orange One tear this country apart for the last 4 years, “not being a politician” seems a pretty weak reason to offer him the opportunity to complete the destruction of our Republic. By the way, for those of you who don’t know, Alley was a star of a highly popular sitcom, “Cheers” in the 70’s. The show was good and she was excellent in her role.
Alley’s comment got me thinking. If Trump is not a politician, what else is he not? I made a list off the top of my head. Here goes.
Trump is not kind, not generous, not intelligent, not warm, not forthright, not funny, not friendly, not honest, not strong, not charitable, not knowing, not sympathetic, not hopeful, not fatherly, not fun, not forgiving, not humble, not sensitive, not patient, not wise, not empathetic, not curious, not educated, not quick, not knowledgeable, not sincere, not well-read, not protective, not loyal, not insightful, not true, not inquisitive, not faithful, not humorous (not the same as funny!), not wistful, not careful, not whimsical, not fit, and, apparently, not solvent.
In other words, Trump doesn’t seem to have any of the human traits that we seek in our leaders or even in the people that we want as our friends, relatives, and in our social circles.
If the Orange One is not any of these things, then what is he? He is a desperate, narcissistic, thoughtless lunatic surrounded by sycophants and commanding the most powerful military in the history of the world with his tiny hands on the nuclear codes.
