Last month, Robert F. Kennedy jr., Secretary of HHS and large-headed man with a worm in his brain, cancelled $500 million of grants to develop and refine messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines. In making this announcement, Big Head Bob said he had “reviewed the science” and determined that “these vaccines fail to protect against upper respiratory infections like Covid and flu.” Independent medical and scientific organizations along with an almost limitless roster of distinguished scientists in the field have decried this decision and warned of draconian future ramifications, particularly for future pandemics.

If you remember, the Covid virus came out of China in late December 1999. The virus genome was mapped in January 2000 and the first mRNA vaccines were authorized for use by the following December. By the end of January 2021, only one year after the genome had been identified, over 100 million doses of the mRNA vaccine had been administered. This was a scientific miracle. Nothing like this rapid response on so many health fronts had ever been seen before. A dangerous, black cloud had been lifted. Society quickly began to return to normal. Worldwide, estimates ranged from 2.5 million lives saved to over 10 million saved. Millions more avoided hospitalization and severe respiratory and cardiac impacts.

During this exact same period, Big Head Bob called the vaccines “unsafe and ineffective”. In 2021, he formally petitioned the FDA to revoke the authorization for all Covid vaccine. This guy is now in charge of public health for the United States.

Hundreds of millions of doses of these vaccines have now been administered. There have certainly been reports of adverse events. Usually these are mild and short-lived. Many of us have felt some fatigue and flu-like symptoms after a Covid vaccine. There have also been reports of more serious neurological and cardiological conditions. Anecdotal reports link Covid vaccines with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a condition that affects nerves. Most carefully designed studies have not found an increased risk for Guillain-Barre syndrome in people who have received Covid vaccination. Also, Covid vaccination seems to increase the risk of myocarditis in young men, but the risk remains low and is, in fact, much lower than the risk of myocarditis following a Covid infection.

The benefits of mRNA Covid vaccines far outweigh these minimal risks, but you can frighten a vast number of people by amplifying these adverse outcomes and outright lying about the rewards. Big Head Bob started his disruptive career in this field by doing just that with childhood measles and now he’s repeating his MO with mRNA vaccines. Only now, the Orange Fool has given him the power to really harm people.

At the time of Bob’s cancellation announcement, the man he installed as the head of the NIH, Jay Bhattacharya, MD, PhD, wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post. In his piece, Bhattacharya did not attempt to disavow the vaccine’s effectiveness in preventing death and severe disease. HIs claim was that the vaccine lacks “credibility among the people it seeks to protect.” I have 2 problems with this statement. The first is, with whom does it lack credibility? MAGA supporters and conspiracy theorists? The second issue is that if there are problems with the acceptance of Covid vaccines, Big Head Bob and His Monsters (of which Jay is certainly one) are the reason for the public’s hesitancy. You created this reluctance on the part of some percentage of the public and now you use the rationale of that very reluctance to kill a life-saving technology?

Vaccines aren’t running a popularity contest. Vaccines need to be effective. The mRNA Covid vaccines are historically effective in stopping symptomatic and severe disease and even death. That is it. That is what the vaccine is supposed to do. When public health has an effective weapon in its arsenal against a disease, it becomes incumbent on public health to effectively explain the benefits of the vaccine to the general public compared to the risks of unvaccinated disease. Big Head Bob and His Monsters spent years inflating mild, transient vaccine side effects into scourges forced onto individuals by a sinister government. It is beyond ironic that they can now point to the public’s reluctance as the reason to cancel this effective weapon in public health.

There are a lot of words written in this essay, but the current reality is quite simple. The Covid vaccines saved millions of lives and helped global society return to normal. Because of the actions of one ignorant former heroin addict, we may not have that option available to us when we face the next pandemic. How insane is that?

I’ll start with the 2 unvaccinated children who died of measles in Texas this year. They won’t be the last, unfortunately.
